  • Proclamation:  June 19th is Juneteenth Day in Plano commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.

 

Comments of Public Interest: every meeting, anyone can speak about anything for up to three minutes, with 30 total minutes allotted for this segment.

 

Items for Individual Consideration

  • Item (1): zoning request to modify the development standards for mid-rise residential and requirements for open space on 137.3 acres at the southwest corner of State Highway 121 and the Dallas North Tollway. This conforms to the Future Land Use Map of the new 2021 Plano Comprehensive Plan, and is in part to account for the planned Bruce Glasscock Park.
  • Item (2): zoning request to amend the design guidelines for open space on tracts C and D on 275.1 acres of land at the northeast corner of Dallas North Tollway and Tennyson Parkway. This is also largely to account for the planned Bruce Glasscock Park.

  • Item (b): $5,930,325 to repair Parker Road from the Western City Limit to Preston Road
  • Item (c): $6,473,350 to repair Parker Road from the Eastern City Limit to Country Place Drive
  • Item (d): $eleventy-bajillion for all our other roads. Just kidding, here’s the real item (d)
  • Item (d–for real): $365,000 (that’s $1,000 for every day of the year) for forestry services to supplement the city’s 5-person forestry crew
  • Item (e): $893,397 for Carpenter Park West Drainage Way Stabilization
  • Item (g): $1,482,938 for Intersection Improvements at the following locations: Spring Creek Parkway at US75, Preston Road at Park Boulevard, and Headquarters Drive at Dallas North Tollway
  • Item (h): $578,628 for four Motorola MCC 7500E Dispatch Consoles for Public Safety Communications, including software, installation services, and maintenance for five years
  • Item (i): $3,021,656 for three fire trucks (two Pumper Fire Trucks, and one Aerial Ladder Fire Truck)
  • Item (j): $1,346,096 for five years of Rubrik Data Protection to update old hardware for cybersecurity
  • Item (k): $1,397,917 over five years for Employee Benefits Broker and Consulting Services and Risk Management Broker Services
  • Item (m): $305,429 for 11 Power-PRO 2 cots to move patients and facilitate loading and unloading them onto and from the ambulance
  • Item (n): $395,987 for Subject Matter Expert Consulting Services to select a new Police Records Management System
  • Item (o): a four year contract with two four-year automatic renewals for external management of Pecan Hollow Golf Course, all expenses of which are covered by course operations (the city maintains the golf course, which is paid for by green fees)
  • Item (p): $250,000 for landscape architect professional services for renovation of Horseshoe Park, whose playground and park infrastructure is 27 years old
  • Item (r): $282,958 for a Sanitary Sewer Easement and Temporary Construction Easement along President George Bush Turnpike on the west side of Custer Road to install a parallel sewer line to increase sanitary sewer capacity to avoid overflows
  • Item (s): $437,460 for another Sanitary Sewer Easement and Temporary Construction Easement along President George Bush Turnpike on the other side of Custer Road for the same parallel sewer line
  • Item (t): $787,500 for one year with four automatic one-year renewals for annual maintenance of the Cartegraph Software and Services system used by the Public Works and Parks departments to track assets including everything from street signs to fire hydrants
  • Item (x): repeal of 21 specific resolutions for planning policy documents, studies, and neighborhood plans which are now considered obsolete (details in the link)
  • Item (y): to suspend the June 17, 2022 effective date of Oncor Electric Delivery Company’s requested rate change to give city staff more time to evaluate the proposed rate increase of an 11.2% increase in residential rates and a 1.6% increase in street lighting rates, and establish reasonable rates
  • Item (z): appoint a board member to serve on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) Board of Directors
  • Item (aa):  affirm the appointment of a shared board member with the City of Farmers Branch to serve on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) Board of Directors
  • Item (ab): repeal and replace our Neighborhood Block Parties ordinance with a new Street Closure for Neighborhood Event ordinance
