All the action will be in the Preliminary Open Meeting, where we have two meaty discussions: 1) no longer being a recipient of HUD funds, and 2) the parameters of an ordinance restricting short-term rentals. These will be discussions to provide direction; there will be no votes on ordinances or resolutions pertaining to these tonight.

You can sign up online to speak at council meetings in person or via Zoom online at this link up to 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting, which is typically at the 7:00 Regular Meeting. You may alternatively share your thoughts by emailing the council members any time at our email addresses here, or by 4:00 PM the day of the meeting at The council meeting will be livestreamed on and on the City of Plano Facebook page.

  • Discussion and direction re: Housing and Urban Development Funding – I requested this discussion a couple of meetings ago to discuss no longer being a recipient of HUD, and instead providing the funds we receive from HUD ourselves to address the needs of our community more flexibility and efficiently through our existing Buffington Grant Program and our community partners
  • Discussion and direction re: Short-Term Rental Ordinance – at the last meeting, I requested that an ordinance be brought before council to restrict short-term rentals in Plano. This discussion is to determine what that ordinance will say
