New Executive Order issued by Governor Abbott

Tomorrow’s special city council meeting has been canceled based on today’s executive order by the Governor.

The Governor’s order states: “every person in Texas shall, except where necessary to provide or obtain essential services, minimize social gatherings and minimize in-person contact with people who are not in the same household.”

  • OTHER COMMUNITY- OR GOVERNMENT-BASED OPERATIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
  • CRITICAL MANUFACTURING
  • HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
  • FINANCIAL SERVICES
  • CHEMICAL
  • DEFENSE INDUSTRIAL BASE
  • COMMERCIAL FACILITIES
  • RESIDENTIAL/SHELTER FACILITIES AND SERVICES
  • HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
  • Religious services conducted in churches, congregations, and houses of worship
  • Other services as approved by the Texas Division of Emergency Management

Moreover, people “shall not visit nursing homes, state supported living centers, assisted living facilities, or long-term care facilities unless to provide critical assistance”

Additionally, schools may not reopen until at least May 4, 2020.
