Notable Consent Agenda Items

Total of $10,450,114 of your money in proposed expenses

  • Item (c): $2,401,570 over 5 years for Athletic Field Mowing and Landscape Maintenance, spread across 4 separate vendors
  • Item (d): $2,226,895 for water line and pavement replacement along 17th Street from P Avenue to Jupiter Road
  • Item (e): $1,500,000 over 3 years for horizontal concrete cutting to remove trip hazards on sidewalks
  • Item (f): Second time at bat for renewal of a license agreement with AT&T to permit conduit within the public right-of-way for a ten-year term for a one-time payment to the City of Plano of $513,390. This was tabled at the last meeting due to concerns about the miniscule increase permitted over the 30 years (it allows for 2 10-year renewals with a 3 percent increase each time; that’s 3 percent for 10 years, not 3 percent per year). The proposed fee is unchanged from last meeting.
  • Item (h): $680,132 increase to the new Fire Training Center construction cost of $12,958,671, for a new total of $13,638,803. The addition entails infrastructure upgrades for burn props and a Firefighter Air Replenishment System (FARS), an emergency generator, technology enhancements, and equipment additions
  • Item (i): $1,500,000 over 5 years for Annual Irrigation Controller Replacements
  • Item (k): $349,300 for erosion control – Willow Creek and Ports O’Call
  • Item (l): $431,201 for intersection improvements – 14th Street & Shiloh Road, 14th Street & Plano Parkway, Parker Road & Archerwood Street
  • Item (m): $512,850 for Oak Grove Drive Paving, Water Line, & Trail Improvements
  • Item (o): $412,812 over 4 years for the Texas Department of Public Safety to provide all Plano Police drug analysis requirements
