Happy Mother’s Day! The Council Chambers are open to the public! Come one, come all! The new Mayor, John Muns, will be taking his oath of office, along with newly re-elected councilmen Anthony Ricciardelli and Rick Smith.
You can sign up online to speak at council meetings in person or via Zoom online at this link up to 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting, which is typically at the 7:00 Regular Meeting. You may alternatively share your thoughts by emailing the council members any time at our email addresses here, or by 4:00 PM the day of the meeting at councilcomments@plano.gov. Item (1): Grant Specific Use Permit (SUP) for for Transit Center/Station and Electrical Substation to DART and Oncor Electric on the west side of Shiloh Road, north of Plano Parkway

Item (3): Resolution to provide the City Manager additional authority related to personnel, procurement, public meetings, and City Code and policy decisions necessary for issues COVID-19. Council authorized this for the first time when the pandemic began, and have renewed it a handful of times amid fluidly changing circumstances, including when the vaccines started to roll out. This has never authorized the City Manager to enact new law or regulations–only to waive them.

Item (d): $323,649 for replacement of street lights on Legacy Drive from Dallas North Tollway to Parkwood Blvd

Item (e): $2,700,840 for a 5-year contract for software to manage Community Investment Team projects in a uniform way. The Community Investment Team consists of numerous departments, including Engineering, Parks, Public Works, etc. This software will allow for efficiencies and reduction of manual effort in management of projects.

Item (f): $3,059,896 for a buncha intersection improvements at Parkwood Boulevard and Legacy Drive, Coit Road at SH 190 and Mapleshade Lane. Improvements include adding additional turn lanes, sidewalk ramp replacements, signal modification, and a hike and bike trail on the east side of Parkwood Boulevard between Tennyson Parkway to north of the Legacy Drive intersection, extending the existing walking paths to the north and south.
