There is a Special Called Meeting beginning at noon to interview applicants for Chief Municipal Judge. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, this will be conducted in Executive Session and not open to the public.

You can sign up online to speak at council meetings in person or via Zoom online at this link up to 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting, which is typically at the 7:00 Regular Meeting. You may alternatively share your thoughts by emailing the council members any time at our email addresses here, or by 4:00 PM the day of the meeting at councilcomments@plano.gov. The council meeting will be livestreamed on PlanoTV.org and on the City of Plano Facebook page.

Items for Individual Consideration

  • Item (1): Nomination to fill a vacancy on the Collin Central Appraisal District Board of Directors
  • Item (2): to amend the 2021-2022 Action Plan for HUD funds to increase the maximum home value for inclusion in the program from $280,000 to $418,000. The value may not exceed 95 percent of the area median purchase price for single-family homes. This item was tabled at the Apriul

 

Notable Consent Agenda Items

Total of $37,847,695 of your money in proposed expenses (Yowza! To be fair, though, $34,500,000 of that is  for vehicle fuel over the next six years, Item (c)).

  • Item (b): $318,140 for Pickup Trucks (if you say “pickup trucks” at least 10 times within a couple of paragraphs, “pickup” starts to sound a little strange)
  • Item (c): $34,500,000 over six years ($5,750,000 per year) for vehicle fuel
  • Item (e): $725,310 for security fencing at the Ridgeview and Shiloh Pump Stations
  • Item (f): $1,162,760 for screening wall and sidewalk replacement, and alley repairs along Ohio Drive at Hedgcoxe Road and McDermott Road
  • Item (g): $370,801 for six Service Body Trucks
  • Item (i): $473,200 for Neptune Water Meter Registers to complete the commercial portion of the Water Meter Replacement Project
  • Item (l): $288,150 to replace approximately 7,200 linear feet of water mains and associated pavement in the Steeplechase neighborhood
  • Item (m): $321,900 for intersection improvements at four locations in the city
  • Item (n): $363,000 for water line replacement and paving repairs on the following streets: Middle Cove, Lookout, Westridge, Carrington, and Early Morn
  • Item (o): $468,830 to replace 4,495 linear feet of screening wall and sidewalks in Willow Bend Estates
  • Item (t): to approve a contract with HUD to receive $1,988,051 usable toward the following: the production or preservation of affordable housing; tenant-based rental assistance; supportive services, including homeless prevention services and housing counseling (I have previously stated that this is my preference, as “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”; and, the purchase or development of non-congregate shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness
