Bottom Line (Ironically, at the Top)
Not everything goes over budget. The Outer Loop Segment 3C, from Custer Road to US 75 that opened last November, came in about $1.0 million under estimate. That’s your tax dollars saved. The Court looks $210,000 for election operations and $138,930 for ballistic windshields and door armor on a Sheriff’s F-150. Yeah, FAFO bad guys. The county could use a Batmobile. Just sayin’. $377,553.50 in new spending. Lastly, the county is putting out a design solicitation for a new juvenile detention cluster.

Commissioners Court Business (General Discussion Items)
- Public Hearing — Re-plat of Lot 23, Rolling Hills Addition Phase 1 (cover sheet). This is to split one lot into three roughly one-acre lots on a Farmersville-area property. This is the bulk of today’s business. It’s a procedural right where neighbors get a say before things change.
Executive Session
Executive session is a closed meeting authorized by Texas law for discussions involving real estate, personnel, pending litigation, or attorney-client matters. Any action taken must return to open session.
- Real Estate (551.072) — Right-of-way acquisition, Parcels 102 and 109, for the CR 398 project (FM 546 to Lostwood Dr.).
Notable Consent & FYI Items
Total of $377,553.50 of your money in proposed expenses, plus a roughly $1.0 million reduction on a finished road (see below).
- $138,930 — F-150 ballistic windshields, door glass, and door panels for the Sheriff’s Office.
- $210,000 — budget amendment for pre- and post-election processes, drayage (hauling and moving of voting equipment), and elections support personnel.
- −$1,006,738.86 — Change Order No. 7 on Outer Loop Segment 3C (Custer Road to US 75), the final reconciliation with the contractor after the road opened to traffic late last year. It’s not all spending. Sometimes we save.
- RFQ for a new Juvenile Detention Cluster and Administration building. Nothing spent now, but we’re soliciting quotes.
- Application for a Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant to put AEDs in Sheriff’s Office vehicles. This would be money coming in, not going out.

Blink and you might miss this meeting. But don’t think that’s all there is to county government. The heavy lifting often occurs off the dais, same as in city and ISD government.
