Notable Consent Agenda Items

  • Item (b): the purchase of retroreflective and non-reflective material from the 3M company from an existing contract in the estimated amount of $100,000 to fulfill a Federally Mandated requirement for material on the more than 22,000 warning and regulatory signs in our city
  • Item (d): the purchase of $250,000 of EMS Medical Supplies for the Fire Department
  • Item (e): contract modification to increase spend by $625,000 for the Water Meter Replacement project due to a previous administrative error. This will bring the total contract amount to $2,757,980

Items for Individual Consideration

Items 1-3 address changes to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) block grants program based on the CARES Act which Congress passed in response to the coronavirus pandemic
  • Item (1): to amend the Citizen Participation Plan for proposed amendments to the HUD block grants process to allow for modified and shortened public comments periods for in emergency situations, and to allow for remote meetings (this must be approved prior to addressing the next two items)
  • Item (2): to enable available HUD funding (at present $828,593) to be additionally used for homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing (the modification of how the funds will be used must be approved prior to applying for the funds)
  • Item (3): to apply for available HUD funds under the CARES Act (this is to actually apply for the funding)
Items 4 and 5 are for agreements with Collin County for expenditures related to the pandemic
  • Item (4): an agreement with Collin County to address the pandemic under the county’s Emergency Program for Direct Costs Expended by Municipalities
  • Item (5): an agreement with Collin County to provide CARES Act funding for Rental and Mortgage Assistance for Eviction/Foreclosure Prevention
