  • Proclamation:  June 19th is Juneteenth Day in Plano commemorating the end of slavery in the United States
  • Presentation:  Plano’s Environmental Health & Sustainability Department won the Texas Environmental Excellence Award from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
  • Certificate of Appreciation: Katherine Goodwin – Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment Zone No. 2 and 3 Boards

Items for Individual Consideration

  • Item (1): Grant the Texsa Pool an Individual Heritage Landmark designation
  • Item (2): Approve $6,004,653 for the Municipal Center City Council Chamber Renovation. This will include ADA improvements, acoustic and A/V improvements, and solid gold chairs. Just kidding about the chairs; that would be way more than $6 million
  • Item (3): Approve the sale of supplemental multifamily housing revenue bonds by the Plano Public Facility Corporation for the purpose of lending $5,000,000 for the acquisition and construction of the K Avenue Lofts at K Avenue and E. Park Boulevard

 

Notable Consent Agenda Items

Total of $17,670,262 of your money in proposed expenses

  • Item (b): $3,332,209 for over 6 miles of thin overlay on Hedgcoxe Road between Coit Road and Custer Road, on Parker Road between the west City limits and Parkwood Boulevard, and on Parkwood Boulevard between Windhaven Parkway and Plano Parkway. This is the thin blacktop you may have noticed appear on some of our major roads a year or two back. It provides a smoother ride and helps extend the life of the underlying concrete street.
  • Item (c): $396,309 for or Eldorado Park Irrigation and Landscape Renovations
  • Item (h): $398,390 for  a new Municipal Center Cooling Tower
  • Item (i): $1,024,777 for Plano Police Department renovations, including foundation repairs
  • Item (j): $8,036,450 over 5 years for custodial services at various locations for the Engineering Department
  • Item (k): $2,193,794 for Alley Reconstruction – Sutherland, Biltmore, Rochelle, Coach House, Grayson, Queens Way, and Sage Brush Trail
  • Item (m): $400,000 for maintenance of the city’s approximately 50,000 water system valves
  • Item (n): $600,000 for traffic signal maintenance
  • Item (o): a DECREASE of $137,185 to the current contract for OSP Fiber Cabling (that’s right, we don’t just spend willy-nilly)
